The Astronaut Scholarship Foundation is proud to unveil its newest and most exciting endeavor — the 2009 Space Artifact Series! Aficionados and passionate space connoisseurs can now enjoy three uniquely cast, flown space artifacts, elegantly encased in Lucite with the mission insignia. The reverse side (bottom of the Lucite) boasts a description of the artifact, its individual number and a digital astronaut signature. Straight from the astronauts’ personal collection to you, each piece is accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity complete with the astronauts’ original signature.

2009 SAS features:

  • Apollo 9 Lunar Module, Spider, insulation segment from astronaut Rusty Schweickart
  • Apollo 13 Command Module, Odyssey, couch material from astronaut Fred Haise
  • STS-27/STS-28, Space Shuttle tire segment from astronaut Robert “Hoot” Gibson

Each encasement measures approximately 3 1/2″ tall x 2 3/4″ wide and the artifact measures approximately 1 square inch (characteristics of each segment vary as each piece was individually cut from the material provided).

Limited to just 200 memberships, these treasures will arrive at your door three times a year. Memberships will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis. These museum quality artifacts are display-ready and will surely complement any place, space, and beyond!
